Anyone else get the itch to create when you’re holed up in the house after a few straight days of rain and less than desirable temps? Here are 4 upcycling ideas you can do in an afternoon or less with only a few items. These are ideas from friends of mine who have sent me pictures so I apologize that I don’t have detailed instructions but they were too creative not to share. I have included affiliate links to supplies you could use to make these projects yourself.
- License Plate Bin – Use zip ties like these to attach them.
- Paint a shutter like your favorite flag. This shutter is less than $20.
- Drape a flag behind an old window. How about a flag representing your favorite sports team?
- PVC Photo Display. I would think this glue would work great for this project. And the PVC caps are around a couple bucks here.
PS. I hope you are all well. I miss you. We’ve moved again. Back to Maryland, actually back into the same house (pictured here) that we lived in before we moved to Curacao, where this whole blog journey began. We brought 2 rescue pups from Aruba with us. Someone should have reminded me how much work puppies are. 🙂 So much to get caught up on. xo

Hope the move went smoothly. I remembered that you would be moving back to the same house, but I forget the actual details. That’s OK. You’re back, and that’s all that matters. I hope you enjoyed your time in Aruba. Nobody needs THAT much nice weather! lol

haha, exactly! And we moved in September so we could get the full winter effect right off the bat. haha

Hi Karah- so good to look back at all the places you’ve been and the many projects you’ve accomplished.
I’m definitely tired of winter and cold temperatures and this is the time of year when I around my house and wonder what I can do to perk up my space. Thanks for your creative ideas.

Oh my gosh Karah, I was so happy to see post from you. It’s been so long, I was going to ask how island life was, but from someones post, I see you moved again? Anyways. glad to see your post and I love the plate idea. Wish I would have saved all the plates from everywhere we have loved. Would have been cool.

What a contrast moving from a tropical island to Maryland!
Best of luck with the puppies. We have a 16 month old miniature Schnauzer, Rosie, who is a handful. We call her Nosy Rosie.
