all about color {link party}

Today’s the day.  We’re embracing color.  Celebrating it, even.  Sometimes all it takes is just a little pop of color to pull it all together. Check out these fun, colorful ideas created by some very talented gals. I don’t know if I’ll ever see orange again and not think of Linda.  She definitely knows how to infuse a little color and these orange fish sticks don’t disappoint.  See what they looked like before at it all started with paint. I think these pink framed animals with a fabric backdrop would be the perfect addition to a little girls room.  Andrea always creates the daintiest, prettiest things.  Head over to The Cottage Market to see how she made these framed animals … with a little help from Junkin’ Joe. I think these washi tape covered keys on Kelly’s Mac Air are so cute.  What an easy way to make something so functional a little pretty, as well.  Find out how she made her template to cut the tape just right at Eclectically Vintage. Now, I am working to get rid of the red that is our couch set, but Kari uses red in just the right way with this yard sale found desk.  And that cork top is a great way to hide a damaged desktop, find out how she did it at Thistlewood Farms. And for those of you who missed it yesterday, I added a little metallic green to our shelf decor and think it adds just the right pop of color.  What do you think? Now it’s time to see what YOU’VE done with color!  Link up your one favorite use of color. And then do a little mingling … it is a party after all.  :)

free activities {in curacao}

Last week I decided to join in the fun at my new buddy, Jamie’s blog, C.R.A.F.T. where she’s hosting a fun summer series called Creating Really Awesome Free Trips!  The acronym for her blog name, wait … the blog name is the acronym, right?!?!  Whatever.  CRAFT actually stands for Creating Really Awesome Free Things … obviously I love this girl as much as I love creating really awesome free things … and that is a lot.  ;)

house tour {in curacao} where emily’s family met the bachelors

Hey, hey!!  Here’s to the beginning of ‘this week {in curacao}‘.  It really is so exciting for many on this little island to see it in the spotlight on such a big stage. And I feel so incredibly fortunate to be able to bring you a closer look at a few houses you saw on the Bachelorette, filmed here in Curacao. Sooooo, did you watch the Bachelorette finale last night?!?!  Recognize this house?  Where Jef and Arie met Emily’s family. I got to take a first hand look around.  So exciting for me!!  And YOU!  Seriously, this is such a fun week around here.  :)

this week {in curacao}

Soooo, are you guys going to watch the Bachelorette finale tonight?  I AM!! It has been causing quite a stir around this little island to have the final two episodes filmed here on Curacao.  And it has been so fun to see so many spots that we love spotlighted on national TV.  I have definitely been doing some pointing at the tv yelling things like “We’ve been on that catamaran!” and “Oh, they’re going to Klein Curacao” and “Yay, I LOVE Klein Knip beach” … which may have been followed by “Why don’t you ever paddle board me to the beach from our private boat?”.  ;) BUT … what is even more exciting for us is that we are in real life friends with the owners of the two homes that are in the final episode RIGHT NOW!  I know, super exciting, right?!?! And, because we are only friends with really cool people, they gave me the OK to take a bajillion pictures of their beautiful homes and share them with you on this here blog. AHHHH!  I know!  How fun to get an inside look at the homes the ABC crew chose to house and film their show!  I’m pretty geeked out about it!  (Obviously!)  :) So, this is my official announcement of what is going to be ‘this week {in Curacao}’.  The plan is this: (the links are clickable!) Monday:  House Tour – the house where the guys met Emily’s family Tuesday:  House Tour – the house where Emily and Ricki stayed while they were here on the island … where Jef met Ricki Wednesday:  Tree House Tour – a closer look at the tree house that was used as the ‘fantasy suite’ for Jef and Emily … the conduit to love, apparently.  ;) Thursday:  Pool Party, Curacao … continue reading
