I got so many encouraging comments and emails about last week’s photos so I’m continuing the trend…sharing a few fun things I saw throughout the week here in Curacao.
Thanks for all of the support. I sure do appreciate it. 🙂
Now, most Saturday mornings I can be found here…sorry for the sunrise directly behind the sign.
And then here.
Well, not actually at the dumpster…the dumpster is outside of the bakery. This is a pic I took last year. Apparently I haven’t seen anything interesting at the bakery since. 🙂
On the US President’s Day holiday…otherwise known as Carnival here in the Caribbean…also a holiday…we brought these hooligans to the beach. 🙂
And they quickly made friends with this lovely couple happy to give Marley attention and feed Mico chips…aka Doggy Heaven.
We watched a young boy fishing. What are the chances he knows he can hang a whole gallery wall with fishing line? 😉
And we watched the sun set.
And…
…I may or may not have test painted the back of one of our couches…
Let’s hope today isn’t the day Joel decides to start reading the blog. 😉
Have a great weekend! See you next week.
If you’d like to see the first foto friday you can check it out here.

You must be having the time of your lives in the Caribbean. You have shared some gorgeous photos, well, the goats aren’t gorgeous, so maybe interesting would be a better word.:) I love the sunset photo, though.

I just love the Curacao pictures! What a wonderful chapter in your life to live in such a beautiful place! But that couch painting picture looks a little frightening!!

Love, Love , Love pics of the hooligans!!!! I just started following your blog and I live vicariously through it. My dad was statined in Curacao in the Navy…I have been twice but only for short periods of time on a cruise ship…would love to go back and spend some time 🙂

Is it me…I thought it was Thursday am I missing something?! Fabulous photos Karah and just look at those gorgeous pebbles on the beach. I am having a bit of thing about pebbles at the moment…I bought 8 bags of them in Ikea yesterday but I would so much prefer to pick them up on the beach. Excited to see the sofa paint job!

If you keep posting these fab pics, random people are going to start showing up on your doorstep (me included)!!
Lucky that you only found goats by the dumpster – in St Barth’s, we saw rats the size of dogs!
You’re living a life others only dream of – so let us live vicariously through you and keep those pics coming!

Karah,
Such amazing pics. I need to look through your blog and check out other Curcao posts – iy looks heavenly.
And, yeah, today might be a rude awakening. You can paint a couch? That one is new to me. But, I’m open to the possibility – or even impossibility – LOL. Look forward to hearing the verdict.

I am having some serious island dreams … especially since today in Chicago is gray and wet and overall unpleasant. Good think I’m elbow deep in bright orange paint!

We need to charter a plane Linda and get all us Chicago bloggers on board.

Okay, how funny is this?
I was so moved by your Foto Friday and did a Foto Friday post of my own…
Then realized it was Thursday!
I re-scheduled my post for tomorrow.
Karah, please don’t walk off any short piers in Curacao.
I just might blindly follow 😉

I could use an island vacation right about now… Can’t wait to see how the couch turns out! 😉

Show me a sunset, or a beach, or even goats by a dumpster and I’ll have island envy, but that fruit and the local farmer’s market has me drooling … by the time it arrives here it is overly ripe or still way raw because they had to harvest so early to ship it.
Now the sofa … please do tell more about your experience, because once again Karah, I’ve been thinking about a similar {although much smaller} “upholstery painting experiment”. Looks like you might have tried a semi-gloss paint?
Happy Carnival!

Loved that last part about the mister not reading the blog. Same thing here. Some things are best kept on a need-to-know basis, lol.
