That’s right, we have a house so large that we call her the Taj Mahal. Honestly, it’s not even that she’s that large, it’s more that while I was trying to update her she may have nearly broke my DIY spirit and so we decided to give her a name worthy of the feat it turned out to be to bring her back to glory.
She still has a long way to go. And managing a rental from afar proves difficult at times and definitely makes for slow going on the DIY updates front.
But we have been able to update the kitchen counters, the kitchen cabinets, the cabinet hardware and I used some newspapers I found in the garage circa 2009 as a creative wall covering.
We also installed a very economical wood slat backing to some open cabinets, one of my favorite updates to an otherwise ho-hum kitchen. I mean, she even has a washing machine in the middle of her. 🙂
