what a difference a year makes

How is everyone today?  Happy Last Day of the Year!  Can you believe it?  I can hardly believe it is the last day of 2012.  Where did it all go? I remember last New Year’s Eve like it was yesterday … well, at the least everything before, let’s say, 10pm.  ;)  Kidding. What better way to wrap up the year in a fancy little bow than to recap a few of our favorite projects and posts from 2012.

month in minutes {november 2012}

Thanksgiving.  Yep, that happened.  Oh right … and the first two thirds of December.  That happened. And in just a couple weeks  I’m going to be saying “2012.  Yep, that happened”. I try not to say it every month, but seriously, time is a flyin’.  Who’s ready for Christmas?  Yeah, me either.  :/ So here’s a belated look back at what we called November 2012, a review of the month in minutes.  :) Projects!

month in minutes {october 2012}

So, let me get this straight … We went on vacation for 10 days.  A little rest and relaxation with my love.  A little exploration of a new country.  Our first trip to Central America. *sorry for the water spot on the picture, I guess that’s what happens when you rappel down a waterfall with your point and shoot in a zip lock bag. And while we were hangin’ in the rain forest, with hardly any connection to our real life, the World Series went down in 4 games, Taylor Swift and some Kennedy broke up (I feel a new song coming on) and a super storm took down the Jersey Shore, NYC and many other areas of the northeast? Ay yay yay!!  Here’s hoping you and everyone you know and love are safe and sound. And here’s to realizing with great clarity how insignificant some things can be, when real life is dealing with loss of power and light and fuel and everyday people are digging through grocery store garbage bins looking for their next meal. *regular texting rates apply

month in minutes {august 2012}

Holy cow, how is it September all ready?  It boggles my mind how fast time goes by. Just boggles it I tell you.  ;) (What does that even mean?) Here’s a look back on all that we accomplished in August, a little review of the month in minutes.  And I’m going to mix it up a bit and add categories … then you can easily find the types of posts you’re looking for. You’re welcome. Let’s start with Projects!

month in minutes {july 2012}

Check this out … the monthly review in the first week of the following month.  #surprisedmyselfwithmyefficiency July has always been a favorite month of mine … and it proved to be the same on the blog. I started the month begging asking for help as I started to undertake a living room redo. So far, as part of the Blogging without Borders series we have made a floating shelf and started work on DIYing a coffee table.  I am reeeally hoping to have that for you at the next update. If this review is old news to you, head over to see what the other gals are up to. We had a bunch of fun with decor on this new floating shelf.  Well, I know I did, I hope you did, too.  :) From the initial attempt, an early fall mantel and the most recent where we finally brought ‘the girls‘ back and added a pop of color with a spray painted leaf wreath. How to Build a Floating Shelf Tutorial is here! I enjoyed putting together a round-up of 105 ideas for your 4th of July celebration.  What a great resource! I was a day late so feel free to pin it for next year.  :) And I also made another piece of pallet word art that I adore.  It has been the perfect, sun shiny addition to our rooftop pallet bed area. July was also great fun for me as part of the Hometalk Ambassador team.  I shared my tips for posting your projects on Hometalk here.  And also had a blast with my girlfriends at our DIY pool party with Hometalk ‘swag’ here.  Thank you so much Hometalk, and Miriam, for the wonderful opportunity.  :)  It gave me chance to help my friend Carol learn how to use … continue reading

month in minutes {june 2012}

Ok, well clearly I’ve gotten into the bad habit of posting this little recap about 10 days into the month.  Sorry ’bout that! So let’s get right to it and take a look back and see what we did in June, shall we?!?! Maybe the reason this is so late is that I haven’t gotten out of this baby since we made her? I wish I could blame it on the new pallet bed we made in 3 easy steps.

month in minutes {may 2012}

It’s that time of the month again.  Well, it’s already the second full week in June (seriously?!?!) so let’s get on it and put all of the links for what we accomplished here in May in one handy dandy little spot for you, with a few fun new things mixed in. The month actually started with very little productivity due to some fun vacation visitors.  One of our favorite spots to take company is called the blue room … Cool, right?!?! So, while I was out frolicking with friends and supposed to be making a sign for a local spa, I highlighted a few of the signs I had already made here. I am happy to report, the spa sign did get made, it’s nothing extravagant, but serves a purpose.  :)
