a crafty Christmas {before meets after}

Happy Tuesday!!  Are you all linked up to the crafty Christmas party?  It’s open all week, so get your craft on and then show us what you made! And today you should head over to Lisa’s blog, Before Meets After.  I actually had the pleasure of meeting Lisa in Atlanta at the blog conference I went to in June.  We were both lucky enough to go to the wrong restaurant to meet a larger group for dinner on the very first night.  :) Lisa hosted a 12 crafty days of Christmas series last year and this year switched it up a bit and here we are doing a crafty Christmas week together! Today she’s showing you how to make this awesome Snowflake Wreath, so go check it out here! And …

joy to the world {simple Christmas wreath}

This time of year really is the best, isn’t it?!?! The holiday spirit is in the air, holiday decor is strewn about and holiday cheer is abundant.  :)  I practically hear carolers singing “Joy to the World” right now. I love that first delve into the Christmas decor and crafting.  I like to see what we’ve got from year’s past that still inspires me and try to come up with a few new ideas at the same time.  All while I watch my husband roll his eyes at me as I pace to and fro between him and his football, or futball, or whatever sport he’s watching at the time. Hey, this decor thing takes time.  You gotta step back, look at it from all angles, scootch it around a bit and then step back for another look … am I right!?! On my decor day we even had the island equivalent of what could be considered a winter storm.  Brrrrr! Just kidding I think it did get down to 79 degrees though … which is close to a record low.  And the perfect day for dilly dallying around with some Christmas decor I say. So I made a few new driftwood Christmas trees and gave our fall leaf wreath a winter makeover.

Hey hey!  Happy Monday!  It’s that Monday again … the one where we share those super simple, easy peasy, ‘it’s a cinch’ type projects. You’ve seen my leaf wreath in a couple of vignettes recently on the blog. First we did our fall mantel, because we like to be way ahead of the curve. And then we spiced it up a bit with a little green metallic spray paint.

fourth of july {105 ideas for your celebration}

Newsflash:  We don’t live in the US.  :)  If this is news to you,  Welcome!  You’ve probably never been here before.  :) We haven’t been privy to a 4th of July celebration for a few years now but, I have seen some seriously fun 4th of July party decorations, recipes and ideas all around.  And, yes, I know I am a day late, and usually a dollar short.  But, I thought it would be fun to put these great ideas together as a resource for next year or next weekend.  For whenever you need a little red, white and blue in your celebration, really.  A round-up of round-ups, of sorts. But, before we get started I am thrilled, and pretty giddy, to be guest posting over at Primitive & Proper today, divulging a little secret about my feelings.  So, stop over and check it out … but you may want to pin this page first.  :) 105 Fourth of July Celebration Ideas

my favorite showoff

Hey hey!  Happy Monday!  I hope you all had a fab weekend.  It’s always fun for us to pretend like we’re on vacation while showing friends around this little island.  :)  Now it’s back to reality where I am still on vacation but Joel is back at work.  We had quite a few encounters with these guys this weekend.  Is there such a thing as “iguana season”? Do you ever have those moments where you kind of have to pinch yourself?  Like, is this really happening to me?  This totally happened to me on Friday, in a really good way. I just started this little blog thing less than 6 months ago and have had so much fun e-meeting some pretty inspiring and creative bloggers, DIYers and craftaholics.  And among the nicest, most supportive and genuinely sincere of them all has been Roeshel.

it’s a cinch {link party}

Hey y’all!! I’m back!  Vacation was fantastic!  Loved it so much! Fun times with a great family, adorable nephew, funny brother, sister-in-law who thought the strike through was showing my blog mistakes.  (Sure do love you Bonnie!!) And too many “just blog about it” jokes to go around.  My sweet, sweet mother didn’t even come to my defense…apparently I have a bit of a blog audition going on here, too. Sure do love you family.  :) And … after vacation … it’s always fun to be at the gate in the airport going to Curacao  … when I’m heading home.  Smile. So, there’s really no complaining here. But have you ever had those days when you thought you would be getting all crafty.
