one of the easiest pallet projects ever

Do you remember the last time you moved?  When you unpacked your things in your new house and all these old memories flooded back of those same things on your old space? I’ve been relishing the nostalgia of it all for about a week.  With every new box I opened I would uncover some of my favorite upcycling ideas or pallet projects.  The palm frond pumpkin made it pretty much unscathed!  And all of the pallet art projects need to find a new home here. And then when I found the diy door trough, one of the easiest pallet projects ever, I thought the tutorial was worth resharing.  This little gem might just happens to be one of the first bits of pretty around here. After I shared this tutorial I also shared how to reverse image and text in Word and make an easy little Welcome sign for your pallet projects.

upcycling ideas {20 perfect pallet projects}

You know, I’ve never really been much of a magazine girl.  I don’t subscribe to any, they were just never my go to for inspiration. But let me tell you … that is a changin’.  I find myself engrossed in any kind of magazine these days just looking at the pictures and gleaning inspiration for our soon to be house renovation / remodel projects. And it’s no secret that I’m a fan of pallet projects.  And I’m finding myself drawn to all things pallet wood, or reclaimed wood, or barn wood.  The pictures just pop right out of the magazine and are just drooling with character and depth.  Pallet projects seem like such a great way to create a unique focal point in any room. Here are 20 of my favorite pallet projects I’ve seen around lately.

pallet art {tutorial}

Ummmm, have you ever totally meant to do something for months and just never did? That’s what happened to me here. I wrote a tutorial of the very first pallet project I made for a guest post and never came back and gave you guys the how-tos. And the guest post was in January.  :/ Ack! Anyhow … here’s the story of my very first pallet project.  Well, for the blog anyway … me and pallets go way back.  ;)

diy pool party {in curacao}

Well HELLO! to everyone.  And a big, phat Curacao welcome to everyone who is new around here at the space between.  It sure is nice to have you.  :)  I am so happy that everyone seems to be enjoying ‘this week {in curacao}‘, it has been so fun for me to spotlight this little known treasure of an island in the southern Caribbean. And an extra-large Thank YOU!! to Julia from Hooked on Houses for sharing the house tour love.  You were so kind to spread the word about these house tours that I have been so excited to post!  :) If you’ve missed any part of ‘this week {in curacao}’ you can get all caught up by clicking on the images below. Today, we’re taking a break from gallivanting around the island and we’re relaxing by the pool. And, by relaxing … I actually mean DIYing, of course.  :)

pallet {word art}

This project comes to you courtesy of my love affair with the world wide web of inspiration. Now, I first have to start out by saying that the outpouring of love and support that we have received in response to our 10 year old puppy going through surgery (more on that here) has been so overwhelming, in the best of ways.  All of the private emails and messages in addition to the comments, and those who have shared your own pet stories … you will never know how much it has helped us through this.  Us pet owners and lovers, we’re a special breed.  Hardeharhar!! Ok, now back to business, when the announcement came out that it was time for the next installment of the Pinterest Challenge co-hosted by Bower Power and Young House Love … and this time with the addition of Centsational Girl and Ten June … it was very fitting that I had been spending a lot of time on this pin board. In particular, I had just pinned this by the very creative Michael from Inspired by Charm. And you all know how I heart a good piece of decorative word art on wood.  So, I thought, challenge = accepted.  Let’s stop pinning for a second, and start doing.  :)

summer mantel {mantle}

I don’t know about you, but I think one of the worst feelings in the entire world is to feel left out.  Whether it’s intentional, accidental, preventable, whatever.  It always just sucks to not be included and know about it. No? And you know what one thing I have felt completely left out of since joining blogland?

7 outdoor upcycling ideas

Good morning! This morning we are on a jet plane, heading for a little vacation and to help our friends celebrate what is sure to be a fun wedding weekend.  Congrats Adam and Marisella!! Maybe, while I am not doing anything that can even be somewhat construed as productivity in any way, you will enjoy these inspiring ideas to somehow re-use, re-purpose and re-invent items in your outdoor living spaces. And you can be productive for the both of us, thanks.  :)

how to make a pallet bed

It’s that time again.  The first Monday of the month where we share an easy peasy, super simple, somewhat silly to post about project. And today, my friends, we are going step-by-step into my rooftop pallet bed making process.
