a brief moment of panic, but i’m over it, i think

I tend to pride myself on being an even-keeled, take-it-as-it-comes, what-will-be-will-be sort of gal. But I have to tell you, I had a brief moment of panic the other day. This whole living in transition thing might just be wearing us all down.  Just look at Marley all sad-faced laying in front of the door to ensure we don’t leave this hotel room without her.  Poor puppy.  :( On the other hand, Mico seems to think the big bed and cool temps are just about perfect.  Ignorance truly is bliss.  ;)

as we’re walking away …

Ok, so the song actually goes …  … “Now I’m falling in love as she’s walking away” … But it was really all I could think of when I took this picture. This is the last view I had of our humble Curacao abode as we were walking out of the yard at the house in Curacao and packing up the taxi to head to the airport.

diy door turned coffee table

We’re blogging without borders here today.  If you’ve missed my first few attempts at updating our living room you can get all caught up here, here and here. And today … she’s here … the old door I pulled out of a dumpster on the way to meet friends at the pool one day has transformed into a coffee table!! And here’s how it happened.

month in minutes {june 2012}

Ok, well clearly I’ve gotten into the bad habit of posting this little recap about 10 days into the month.  Sorry ’bout that! So let’s get right to it and take a look back and see what we did in June, shall we?!?! Maybe the reason this is so late is that I haven’t gotten out of this baby since we made her? I wish I could blame it on the new pallet bed we made in 3 easy steps.

home talk {topic talk}

Happy, happy Monday!  I hope you all had a great weekend and maybe even did something festive to celebrate the holiday weekend.  For everyone who is interested, our pup is coming along, recovering as quickly as a 10-year-old after major surgery can.  Thankfully!  :) Now, last Monday I put out a little plea for help.  If you missed the details please click here. I basically, like a crazy person, have decided to tackle a little living room makeover.  And by little, I mean HUGE.  And, I give you an equally HUGE Thank you!! to all who offered up your rooms for inspiration here. Here are a few that I am loving!!

function over form {the bedroom}

Happy Fourth of July everyone!  It has been a crazy week around here, to say the least. Warning:  This is not at all about a project, decor idea, tip, tutorial or other DIY relevant topic.  This is about when real life happens and the desire for a space to be beautiful doesn’t even remotely exist.  When a room’s one and only purpose is to function in real life. When it doesn’t bother you in the least when your ‘master bedroom’ looks like this.
