This week marks a milestone here at the space between. (Ceeeeeee-le-brate good times, come on!) *I do not know those people. We’ve been here, spewing out randomness to you for one whole year! Can you believe it? Me either. ;) I can honestly say I had no idea what I was doing when I hit publish on my very first post. *I’m not making a political statement here, just a confused statement.
Other possible titles for this post include “people shaming”, “oh no you di-en’t” or “top twelve reasons my dogs are thankful they are my dogs and not Lisa’s”.
Hey, hey! Happy Monday! How are you? I am great! I am gearing up for company to come visit. FUN!! That’s one thing about living on an island. We get our fair share of visitors. :) Luckily, we mostly like them all. ;) We had about a year there where we had at least one week of company every month. I became quite the tour guide. Hence my knowledge of the top 10 free things to do in Curacao. I’m ready to get to doing a few of those again soon. You know how it goes, don’t you?!? You have these really cool things to do in your town, but you don’t usually do them unless you’re showing them to visitors. Or you have this really cool room in your house … or on the roof as it may be … and you don’t spend as much time up there as you could. Because it’s always there. I’ll just go up tomorrow. Or next week. Or sometime soon, for sure! :)
Ummmm, have you ever totally meant to do something for months and just never did? That’s what happened to me here. I wrote a tutorial of the very first pallet project I made for a guest post and never came back and gave you guys the how-tos. And the guest post was in January. :/ Ack! Anyhow … here’s the story of my very first pallet project. Well, for the blog anyway … me and pallets go way back. ;)
This is it. My first ever, one and only, Halloween craft.
Man. I have been so so busy. Like crazy busy. Like I can’t even catch my breath busy. And it’s all because I discovered the devil best. thing. ever. Apple tv. You know it? It really is going to be the death of me. I imagine it’s like Netflix. Where you can watch whole episodes of seasons passed of your favorite shows.
Actually, brownie bites! And, even more importantly, my tips for baking moist brownies (without breaking the calorie count), even when you’re a bad baker.
You’d think I’m gearing up to host a dinner party around here. I’m coming up with 5 inexpensive ideas to keep in mind when tablescaping. And reminding you of the name card holders I made last year. And even making new ones for this year. And now, I’m making do it yourself coasters.
Ok, seriously, how did it get to be October? It totally still feels like July around here. (Get it? Still feels like July. We live in the Caribbean. It’s still hot and sunny … feels like July …) Aaaanyway, 2012 is passing in flash. Let’s see what we were talking about around here in September.
So, did you check out the Random Acts of Craftiness party last week? The one where my buddy Erin initiated a little crafting challenge. To not use any online inspiration and make a unique craft out of items of her choosing. And, because she is not a totally mean person, she did not pick used toothbrushes like she had threatened to. She picked game pieces … which proved almost as difficult. But don’t let that scare you. This is the kind of challenge where you get a ribbon even if you’re plan doesn’t quite pan out. So I whipped out my favorite cheerleading moves* and encouraged everyone along and picked out a few of the projects that I think are an awesome repurpose of old game pieces.
This little idea might just take the cake for simplicity.
